VICENZAORO January Attendance +5% to 35,000
February 11, 16(IDEX Online News) – VICENZAORO January announced that attendance at its recent gold and jewelry industry show increased by 5 percent to more than 35,000 visitors.
A breakdown of visitor numbers showed that 8,774 overseas buyers from 130 countries were in attendance – a 5-percent increase over the previous year. The number of buyers whom came from Egypt, Iran and UAE was particularly positive, and there was strong growth in the number of US operators as the economy shows signs of further recovery. There was growth in visitor numbers from European countries such as UK, Portugal, Poland and Spain, in addition to Australia, India, Israel and Thailand. It was noticeable that visitor numbers from Russia, China and Hong Kong were all down, as those economies go through a period of struggle.
The number of Italian visitors also increased to 10,607 – a 4.3-percent improvement.
The central theme of the show was “The Golden Voice,” which looked at the most important stakeholders in the gold and jewelry industry. There were a number of events, meetings and workshops on diverse subjects such as Corporate Social Responsibility, technological innovations and manufacturing creativity and dynamics in retail.
The main event contained a focus on technology, as it was also the occasion for the 39th T-GOLD, which showcased machinery and technology for use in the gold and jewelry industries. Of the 133 business that presented there, 111 were from Italy.
“We are particularly pleased with the results in terms of visitor figures for this VICENZAORO. It is the payoff for the hard work of the last few years, in terms of investment, vision, a brave innovation of format and the creation of an increasingly expert network,” said president of Fiera di Vicenza, Matteo Marzotto.
The next event is the second VICENZAORO Dubai edition from 14-17 April.
