VOD 2016 Draws 10,000 Visitors
April 19, 16(IDEX Online News) – The recently-concluded VICENZAORO Dubai (VOD), a joint-venture between Fiera di Vicenza and the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), drew 10,142 international operators, buyers and visitors to the show.
More than 100 countries were represented, with four markets; Middle East, Eurasia, North and East Africa and Central and Southern Asia, making up the majority of visitors. The event showcased Dubai as a hub for business communities in the jewelry and international luxury goods trade.
More than 400 brands presented exclusive collections at VOD, divided across four areas; global brands, fine jewelry and national pavilions, gemstones and diamonds and packaging and supply. A significant proportion of the businesses were from Italy, following collaboration with the Italian Ministry for Economic Development – which, through the Italian Trade Agency – organized the Italian pavilion.
Independent designers from Saudi Arabia, China and UAE were given a platform for the first time to present their exclusive collections to professional buyers at a jewelry trade show.
At the opening, several of the industry’s key players were presented with the VOD Jewelry Celebration Award to recognize brands and individuals who have promoted the image of UAE and Dubai in the gem and jewelry industry. Winners included executive director of Dubai Multi-Commodities Centre, Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Dhamani CEO, Amit Dhamani and CEO international operations of the Malabar Group, Siroya Chandra Prakash.
