IJL Names 2016 Kickstarter Lineup

(IDEX Online News) – International Jewellery London (IJL) has announced the names of this year’s 10 most promising, up-and-coming designers selected to be part of its Kickstarter initiative.

The Kickstarter concept is in its eighth year, and is an annual mentoring program that is well-renowned for its support of new and innovative talent. Since its inception, the program has selected 70 winners, many of whom are now familiar names within the industry.

Kickstarter’s 10 selected jewelers are, Joanna Bury, Emily Richardson, Emma Calvert, Sammie Jo Coxon, Cécile Gilbert, Vicky Lew, Lucas Mitchell, Charlotte Scott Moncrieff, Marina Skia, Jonna Jarvenpaa and Laura Vilppula.

“Our KickStarters this year will not disappoint – they are a really exciting group of designers and they all deserve to benefit from this unique commercial launch pad,” said IJL Show Director, Sam Willoughby. “What is particularly rewarding this year is to see yet another two Bright Young Gem designers become KickStarters and progress their IJL Journey. Our aim is to provide the ideal environment to support and nurture the best design talent, helping them grow from a fledgling business to a potential global designer brand.”

Voting for the “People’s Choice,” the Kickstarter who the industry feels is the one to watch, will commence on May 31 and conclude on June 30.

IJL 2016 will take place from September 4 to 6 at Olympia Grand, London.
