Pangolin Recovers Type II Diamond at Malatswae
May 17, 16(IDEX Online News) – Pangolin Diamonds Corp has announced that a recent analysis of diamonds recovered from its MSC Grid in Botswana revealed that one of the stones is a Type II nitrogen-free diamond.
The Type II diamond is associated with three other diamonds in the grid, and analysis also revealed the presence of kimberlite indicator minerals associated with a proximal source.
Five of the other diamonds are Type I-a B-color diamonds and one is a Type I-a A color. Approximately 98 percent of the world’s diamonds are classified as Type I a diamonds in the range between pure Type I-aA and pure Type I-aB – with the remainder being the much rarer Type II-a diamonds.
All of the MSC data including surface feature interpretations and geophysical results will be analyzed to select future drill targets, with drilling to take place in the second part of 2016.
The Malatswae Diamond Project is located 105 kilometers southeast of Lucara Diamonds’ Karowe Diamond Mine.
