Pangolin Recovers Diamondiferous Kimberlite Indicators at Malatswae
March 30, 16(IDEX Online News) – Pangolin Diamond Corp. has reported that an integrated study of mineral chemistry and surface textures of kimberlite indicators from the company’s 100-percent owned Malatswae Diamond Project has been completed.
A total of 177 kimberlite indicators were recovered from 99 soil samples collected at the from a 100m x 100m grid that covers 0.8km² within the MTS grid. The MTS grid is a defined 1.5 km² area in the northern part of Malatswae.
The majority of the indicators have surface textures suggesting a proximal source. Two picroilmenites displayed fragile surface features indicative of a very close source and many of the garnets have compositions similar to garnets from diamonds.
A detailed magnetic survey is being conducted over the entire grid and there will also be a synthesis of all soil sample results, surface texture analyses and the integration of geophysical data, ahead of the selection of future drill targets at the MTS grid.
The Malatswae Diamond Project is located 105 kilometers southeast of Lucara Diamonds’ Karowe Diamond Mine.
