Kennady Releases Results of Faraday 2 Mini Bulk Sample
July 26, 16(IDEX Online News) – Kennady Diamonds Inc., has released the results from a 21.1 ton mini bulk sample recovered from drill holes at its Faraday 2 kimberlite.
The sample was processed by dense media separation at the Geoanalytical Laboratories Diamond Services of the Saskatchewan Research Council. The drill cuttings were screened, but without the use of the x-ray sorting and grease table circuits, due to a number of background minerals that are luminescent to x-rays.
The three largest diamonds recovered from the Faraday 2 sample included a 1.90-carat grey transparent aggregate with inclusions; a 1.73-carat light brown, transparent broken aggregate with inclusions; and a 1.52-carat grey transparent aggregate with inclusions.
“We are very pleased with the result from this mini-bulk sample, which is in line with our expectations from microdiamond test work,” said Kennady president and CEO Dr Rory Moore. “While the recovered parcel is not sufficient to obtain a statistically reliable valuation, the results confirm that the Faraday 2 kimberlite has the potential to host a high grade diamond resource.”
Moore added that Kennady’s summer program will focus on further exploring and delineating Faraday bodies.
