The IDEX Online Polished Price Report for August 7, 2014

(IDEX Online News) – Evidence of the summer vacation was abundant with low levels of activity in most categories of round diamonds, according to the weekly IDEX Online Price Report.

In fancy shape diamonds, there was also a decline in activity, although more than seen for round goods, and price changes overall were evenly balanced.

• 0.18-0.22 cts D / SI2 -4% to $1,200 p/c
• 0.23-0.29 cts just two changes, one up and one down
• 0.30-0.39 cts unchanged
• 0.40-0.44 cts no changes
• 0.45-0.49 cts D / VVS1 -3.5% to $4,100 p/c
• 0.50-0.69 cts M-N / SI2-SI3 declining by 3-5%
• 0.70-0.79 cts N / SI2-SI3 declines of 3-4%
• 0.80-0.89 cts no changes
• 0.90-0.99 cts just one change, downwards
• 1.00-1.24 cts many declines in lower colors and good clarities
• 1.25-1.49 cts declines in lesser colors, higher clarities
• 2 cts H / VVS1 -2.9% to $16,500 p/c
• 3 cts unchanged
• 4 cts no changes
• 5 cts unchanged

Fancy Cuts

• 0.18-0.22 cts E / VVS2-VS2 rises of 3-4%
• 0.23-0.29 cts E / VS1-SI2 increasing by 3-5%
• 0.30-0.39 cts a range of declines in better colors, mid-clarities
• 0.40-0.44 cts unchanged
• 0.45-0.49 cts G / SI3-I1 rises of 4%
• 0.50-0.69 cts M-N / VVS1 rising by more than 4%
• 0.70-0.79 cts K / SI1-SI3 declines of 3-4%
• 0.80-0.89 cts just one change, downwards
• 0.90-0.99 cts H / I1 -3.5% to $2,800 p/c
• 1.00-1.24 cts two changes, both downwards
